What is a Cajon
January 8, 2013 - Labels: Cajon -
The word "Cajon" is in Spanish. It is read as "ke-hon". It means "box" or "drawer". Many people read them as "car-john" or "cajun".
The instrument is a six-sided wooden box that you can sit on and play. It is mostly a foot square and 18 inches tall. It is originated from Peru in their folk music.
A Cajon can be played with hands, fingers, brushes and any other things. You can also get different tones and notes out of a Cajon by applying pressure to the front panel (face) with the heel of your foot or your hands whilst striking it with the other hand. Sometimes a kick can be used.

Hmm good question. My violin was bought from my teacher at about 2000. Let me think about the name.
I have recently started naming my things.. I have named my marimo "Mario" and a cactus "Hope". My Pentax Kx also has a name - "Bloody Bumble Bee"
So my violin will be named - Miss Mil

I did my 1st try yesterday from scratch. I didn't play for some time. Wow.. rather yucky.. As i will try to do some overlapping and layering, i think i better be safe and play against a metronome first.
